Yesterday, I read a National Geographic’s article about a kind of poverty in the United States. Its title is “The New Face of Hunger.” People can not afford to maintain healthy diet because they have neither time nor money for diet. Moreover, “Food desert” prevents poor people from getting healthy food. “ Food desert” means a geographic area where affordable and nutritious food is difficult to obtain without a car. Unhealthy food tends to contain fat and sugar very much and then eating the food result in fatness. Though two-thirds families have at least one working adult, they are suffered from malnutrition. Children are one of the most vulnerable group to food insecurity. I am surprised that people are suffered from malnutrition and obesity.
Though I know that I will take a TOEIC tomorrow, I don’t want to do anything for the exam. Recently, I am enjoying a typing game of English song. Particularly, I love songs of Taylor Swift. I watched the cool video of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” It is popular as a famous TV drama’s theme song. I love the video because it is very pretty and beautiful. The singer, Taylor Swift, was born 1989 and raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She is one of the most significant figures in the world.
I watched a TED by Matthew Childs, a famous rock climber. In this video, he explained nine life lessons from rock climbing for more than 35 years. All roles are stimulative and suggestive for me. Particularly, I am interested in three lessons.
First, I would like to introduce Rule number five: know how to rest. It is very useful for me because I often spend many hours for an ineffective work. I should learn how to rest and work effectively.
Second, Rule number eight: Strength doesn't always equal success. We are different with each other, and we should apply each original strategy. Because I don't have enough energy, I am encouraged by the role.
Third, Rule number nine: it is important to control the fall. Although I cannot avoid making mistakes, I can minimize the bad effect from it.
In spite of I don’t have any experiences of rock climbing, I learn a lot from this video.
Now, I plan to read some book about Japanese history and geography during my summer vacation. Three months later, an Indian woman will come to our office, and I will take care of her. If she needs, I want to explain Japanese society’s issues. Therefore, I have to improve my knowledge about Japan. It may be hard, but must be beneficial for me!! I am looking forward to meeting her.
Today, I watched a YouTube video about an animal. In the video, the pretty ocelot kitten learns to fish. It is so cute that it is one of my favorite animals. I am knocked down by the prettiness of the kitten.
Salvador Dalí, a famous artist, had an ocelot as his pet. I guess that he understood the excellence of the animal.
Ocelot is native to Central America and is one of the endangered species. It is very sad that wild ocelots are often illegally hunted for their beautiful fur.
